You MUST submit an application to be whitelisted. Applying is handled via the β β°β-ππ©π©π₯π² channel. If you're having trouble with the process, please DM or @ an admin for assistance.
Absolutely no griefing or PVP against players who have not consented. Consent is strictly recorded in the β ββ»-π«π¨π₯ππ¬ channel. Respect the boundaries of your fellow players at all times.
All Discord server rules and TOS apply here. We expect maturity from our members; if your behavior frequently makes others uncomfortable and you fail to correct it, we maintain a zero-tolerance policy to ensure everyone feels safe.
Please do not attempt to acquire the world seed. It is hidden to prevent unfair advantages. Any unauthorized knowledge of the seed is considered an intellectual property violation and will result in consequences.
Policy applies on a report basis. Please try to resolve conflicts personally first, but if efforts are ineffective, communicate the issue to @Starlings, @Super Nova, or @SMP Owner. You can get in contact with these people by expanding the "staff" section in the footer of this page.
Community safety is our top priority. Offenses are recorded, and while punishment depends on the violation, severity increases with repeated infractions. We will take any action necessary to keep the community safe.

Sundown SMP is a small, chill Vanilla Survival Multiplayer (SMP) Server. We prioritize preservation of the Minecraft experience, meaning there's no annoying in game command-based economy replacing what diamonds are perfectly capable of providing while encouraging community engagement and socialization. Our community's top priority is to provide a safe space for all players.
We are a community that possesses great appreciation in creativity and artistic talent. Talent is not a requirement to join, but it is an asset that will improve your sense of belonging in the community!
While technical issues always reserve the ability to arise, the server runs in a dockerized environment where automatic world backups are performed every two hours. Performance is great because this environment is optimized for hosting.
We like to preserve the authentic Minecraft experience. That means no weird command-based economies, teleporting systems, or heavy mods unfaithful to the vanilla experience. The diamond economy is the best economy!

The server has Simple Voice Chat installed, and players are encouraged (but not forced!) to use it. It also has Geyser and Floodgate installed; allowing it to support both Java and Bedrock players.

Safety is our priority. We have zero tolerance for behavior or speech that undermines our community. Rules apply to both the SMP and Discord; discrimination and hate-speech results in an immediate, permanent ban. We rely on mutual accountability to keep this space comfortable. Our server is 18+. Please note that until we happen to specify that there are no minors in the server, some of our members are minors. However, we are no longer accepting minors and are strict that all new applicants must be 18 or older without exception. The server will have a few 16+ minors until they either turn 18 or leave at their free will.
To join Sundown SMP, you must be 18+. However, explicit content is forbidden, and will result in a ban. Note that we recently transitioned to 18+ on a soft policy, so some members are 16+ until they either turn 18, or leave willingly.
The server has AxGraves (a graves plugin for preserving items after death), Bluemap (a web map), DiscordSRV (Minecraft chat is bridged into a Discord channel), Geyser and Floodgate (Bedrock client support), interactive chat, SimpleAFK, ViaBackwards and ViaVersion (for universal version support), and Simple Voice Chat (proximity chat).
Voicechat is not required, but it's encouraged. Bedrock players will be unable to use voicechat, as it only supports Java clients.

Applications are usually reviewed within one hour, but rarely can take up to 24. If your application isn't responded to within 24 hours, contact support at the bottom of the page.

Yes. Discord acts as both a communication platform for members to socialize, and a platform for staff to maintain a clear record of server members. You must be a member of the Discord server to join the SMP.
